I just finished a book by Kate McVeigh on Favor (The Blessing of Favor, Harrison House, Tulsa, OK), and although I knew well the subject matter, it was a refreshing for me. I encourage you to look into the matter of favor in the Bible. Here is a good place to start:
Look up the word favor in a concordance.
Look up the word grace in a concordance.
Grace and favor are the same word in the Greek New Testament from which we get our English versions. So when we read that we are saved by grace, we can read that to be that we are saved by favor, God’s favor. I like the concept of favor, because grace can be hard to understand and explain. But everyone knows when they have been favored by someone else.
Secondly, be quick to acknowledge the favor of God when you experience it. A good parking space, a green light, a sale on an item you want or need, a visit from a good friend, etc. When we acknowledge His grace/favor towards us, it causes more grace/favor to flow. Like anything, walking in favor has to grow. But eventually, you will experience more and more of the favor of God (and man) towards you. “Jesus inreased in wisdom and stature, and favor with God and man.” So can you.
Here is an acrosstic that Ms McVeigh designed on the word favor:
Faith
Activates
Victorious
Outrageous
Results.
Grace and favor to you today, and every day of your life!! (Return to Victory Ground website)
